Saints Row: The Third is the successor to Saints Row 2, published by THQ and developed by Volition. The game is set in a fictional city of Steelport, based in the State of Oregon, USA. The protagonist is the leader of the Saints, a gang of street thugs. The story begins when Johnny Gat, the Vice President of the Saints, who was jailed after the events of Saints Row 2, is released from custody. Knowing that he would be killed by the Saints, Gat negotiates with a rival gang, The Morningstar, to help him take over the city. The Saints Row: The Third game has the player caught between the warring gangs of the Saints and the Morningstar.
